Welcome to year 3 at Hollybush Primary School! This term, our learning is full of energy and excitement as we explore the fascinating world of forces and magnets. From investigating how objects move, to discovering the invisible pull of magnetic fields, our budding scientists are asking questions, testing ideas, and learning through hands-on experiments and teamwork.

Our class authors are Dick King-Smith, whose heartwarming animal tales spark imagination and empathy, and M.G. Leonard, whose thrilling adventures and love of nature encourage us to think like curious explorers. Their stories are helping us develop our reading skills and creativity as writers.

Music

Our Year 3 class has been exploring the world of music through hands-on learning with the glockenspiel. Pupils have been practicing reading musical notes and keeping in time with the beat, developing both rhythm and coordination. This activity has helped them build confidence in performing and deepened their understanding of musical structure.

Forces

We have been exploring forces in science. The children conducted an experiment to see what force would affect them when they ran with a parachute. The children observed that wearing a parachute affects how well they run due to air resistance.
