Hello to UKS2 Parents/Guardians,
We hope you have had a lovely summer holiday and are back into the school routine.
Since returning to school, we have been learning about the Vikings, a topic the children and staff have thoroughly enjoyed. Year 6 have taken part in their annual residential to Lineham farm, where both pupils and staff had a fantastic time.
This year promises to be full of both fun and challenging learning experiences. We have just started our new topic, ‘The Mayans’ and we are eagerly awaiting our fully immersive workshop, which is taking part near the end of this half term (4th and 5th December). Currently, the Year 6 classes are preparing for their class assemblies and Year 5 are working hard on a year group assembly based around, ‘Remembrance Day!’ Please come and watch your child in their assembly.
In English and Maths, we have an expectation that the children know their multiplication tables and this is something we would encourage you to continue to practice with your child at home. We also encourage daily reading at home; this can be in the form of comics, non-fiction books or narrative texts.
Please remember to attend the UKS2 Parents Evening in November to celebrate the children’s achievements with us. If you ever have any concerns then, please do not hesitate to contact us.
